Tea for two
Little beauty is lying on the couch now watching Bernstein bears for the millionth time. Wnhat a little beauty. You had your eye surgery this week and it is quite swollen and red. At first you seemed to act like nothing had happened and it was hard to keep you from running around. But today you are worn out. Poor little dolly. You've done an awful lot of sitting today and you finally begin to realize that ice on the eye actually does help it feel better. Thankfully Mrs Gurr brought you some new crayons, a colouring book and a water painting book over last night. Today they sure helped pass the time. Auntie Becky also sent you a little get well package that you've been enjoying too. Unfortunately, nothing quite stops the eye from watering or makes the fever go all the way away. Mommy had to stay home from work tonight to take care of you.
Other than your eye business, you've been doing really well. School is such a delight to you. Ryan and Kiki are your best friends still. Sometimes at night you pretend that Ryan keeps calling you. One day when we went skating, Ryan was there with his dad. That was the coolest possible outing ever. You love hanging out with them.
Last Saturday we had a grand old time. You and I went shoe shopping. You needed new running shoes for school because your feet keep growing. And they had a sale on at Payless so we also bought you the coolest pair of black dress boots. You love them. As we were thoroughly enjoying our little outing together, you suggested that since Daddy was home with Zoe, perhaps we should go out for tea before we went home. It was such a splendid day that I agreed and off we went to La Tea Da. The ladies in there think you are a hoot and introduced you to the new staff as a regular there. You weren't hungry so you declined the scones, but you was thrilled to have your own teapot on a little candle to keep it warm while we consumed sugar lumps and drank tea. Then for supper we met up with Bing and Andrea which you always like. Nathan was at his grandparents but you enjoyed being the big girl around Zoe and James.''
You are a smart kid. The other day you were reading the Winnie the Pooh story about how he ate too much honey and got stuck in Rabbit's front door. Then you commented to me that my tummy is pretty big, so I should be careful going in our front door or I might get stuck. You suggested that perhaps I should skip eating for a couple of days. Thanks Ekko.
I need to help you out so that's all for today. I love you loads and I hope you feel better soon. – Mommy
