Tired girlie
Hello my darling. I just tucked you into bed. Daddy is off at volleyball, and Lola is holding Zoe so I get to touch the computer! It has been a busy couple of weeks for you and you are getting rather tired. Auntie Lizette left this afternoon, and Lolo and Lola are leaving tomorrow. Then I think you will need a long nap. You have been playing and playing.
Last Saturday we had your birthday party. You wanted Alana and Emma, Jocelyn, and Ben to be invited. What a happy girlie you were. We were instructed that you needed a cake with Boots the monkey on it. After much deliberating Mommy made you a chocolate cake, covered it with whipped cream and wrote happy birthday Ekko in purple icing (somehow you needed a purple cake too). Then we stuck a Boots figure on it along with your #3 candle. The whipping cream was so deep that Boots looked like he was swimming. All in all, the party seemed to be quite a success. You were so happy and that is really what counts at a birthday party.
You seem to understand somethings more than I give you credit for. Today just as we were heading out the door, you stripped off your pants, socks and shoes. By this point Zoe was already in her car seat and screaming. In frustration I stood at the front door and yelled “Ekko put your clothes on”. Later in the van as we drove to the grocery store you informed me “mommy you are a bit grouchy today. May be you need more sleep.” Yes, Ekko I need more sleep. I’m sorry I was grouchy. When I apologized to you, you told me that you were feeling grouchy too and still loved me anyway.
Tonight Uncle Aldo and Auntie Becky came over to see you (and us) before you went to bed. Uncle Aldo helped you do a puzzle and read a book. That sure made for a happy Ekko evening.
And now you are asleep. I’m so glad. You and me both need to rest. I love you beauty. – Mommy
