Zoe’s first Noel
Hey baby, it's snowing! You and Mommy are downstairs hanging out by the Christmas tree. I think you like the lights and now you are happily chewing on your doll. What a beauty. Merry Christmas littlest girlie. Wow you are cute. And happy too. You know, even with a bad cold and all you still seem to be happier than 90% of the children we know. Take after your daddy I guess. I love you so.
So we celebrated your first Christmas. We went to Sanctuary on the 23rd for the Christmas dinner. You were a big hit. Happily visiting one set of arms after another. Made everybody happy. Then on Christmas Eve, we went out to Wimpy's with Uncle Aldo and Auntie Becky for a late lunch/early dinner before the service. Daddy had to do the music so we headed off to church for 6:30. You fell asleep during the singing of "sleep in heavenly peace". Little babies snuggling on shoulders make the songs about a baby Jesus seem more real. After that, it was home to open presents and eat again. Then you, Ekko and Mommy went to bed while Daddy had to go back to church to lead at the 11 o'clock service. Poor tired Daddy.
Yesterday we had a great day of hanging about. Daddy read his new book we got him. Ekko played with her new stuff. You just looked cute (and required two baths. Man were you poopy). In the afternoon we headed out to Uncle Steve's for Christmas dinner. It was a splendid meal. (not that you could eat any of it!) You and Emma had a grand old time chatting to each other. So cute to see the littlest cousins together. Uncle Steve and I were commenting on your biggest cousin's engagement. Doesn't seem that long ago since Ellen was a little sweet girlie. Now she is still sweet but all grown up.
This morning is Sunday and by rights we should be heading out to church soon. But Daddy is already gone with the van because he needs to do the music. Ekko is so worn out that I hate to wake her up. And you both have wicked colds so we are sitting here chatting together. I just wanted to write a few thingys down about your first Noel. You are the best kind of gift any mommy could ever have. I love you Zoe! – Mommy
