Big boss
You have been a big sister for four weeks now. What a lot of changes in your life my love. Mommy is so proud of you. You love your little Zoe so much and she responds to you. It is great. In the morning you both like to lie in Mommy and Daddy’s bed while we get ready for the day. Zoe is usually asleep and you lie there cuddling her. It’s adorable.
I’m trying to remember good stories to write and my head is a bit foggy these days. The other day when we were driving somewhere and Zoe was crying, you kept saying to her “it’s okay little person”. Another time when I had to go the doctor’s and you guys stayed home with Grandma, Zoe started to get hungry before I got home. As Zoe cried, you explained to her that I would be back soon and so she didn’t need to be worried. When I got home, you said to Zoe “You can stop crying now. You don’t need to be lonely cause your mommy is here.”
You also imitate the high pitched voice that many women use around babies. “Oh so sweet”. It is hilarious to hear you talking. When we were in the store with Grandma, you found some tiny baby clothes and you kept saying “Oh so sweet” in this high voice. It was so cute.
The other day we went for a walk with Zoe in the stroller. You pushed a long way. One of the neighbours was outside and asked you if Zoe was the big boss at our house. You told him “she’s the little boss. I’m the big boss!”
Yesterday you helped me dig up a part of the front lawn and make a garden. The best part for you was the number of worms we found. What a happy child you were with dirt all over and a handful of worms! Thanks my girl. Every time we found another worm, you had to run up on the porch and show Grandma.
Nathan is a big brother now and we went out to visit him and see his new baby. You liked that too except you fell asleep on the way so it took you a while to warm up. Imagine you and Nathan being the big kids in the group now.
Sunday School has started it’s fall schedule and that makes you happy. All summer you hated the open classes. Last week when the called for the two year olds to go to their class, you took off without even saying good bye! It was great. And the teacher was impressed at how well you listen and understand. She also mentioned that you told the group a few times that purple is your favourite colour.
Grandma made a birthday cake for mommy, and Uncle Steve, Auntie Hiroko, Alana, Emma, Uncle Aldo and Auntie Becky came over. You and Alana had a grand time. You blew out my candles for me which was very helpful. And the pair of you tore around the house squealing like a pair of little pigs. On Wednesday last week Auntie Hiroko took you and Alana to Riverdale farm. What an incredibly happy girl you were. The pigs are still the best part of the farm for you. Then when you came home you were so tired. I had to laugh when you had Alana down on the floor and you were trying to hug her. She was crying “I don’t want to be hugged” and you were saying “yes you do!” Ekko takes after her daddy!
I should go feed Zoe. You like to feed your puppy. Apparently you have milk in your belly button to feed the puppy with!
