Busy week

Wow.  Daddy and mommy are both writing letters on the same day!  You had a busy week my girl and now are very tired.  On Wednesday we went with Marion to St Jacob’s.  Then yesterday we had music class, lunch with Alana and Emma, and Uncle Aldo’s birthday party at supper time.  When you found out it was Uncle Aldo’s birthday you were determined that we had to go shopping for a balloon.  All day long you kept bugging Mommy about getting a balloon until finally we stopped on our way home from the subway.  Then you had to pick it out by yourself.  Of course, you wanted one with a happy face on it.  You like happy faces.  You try to draw them all the time.  It was with glee you carried home a helium red happy face balloon for Uncle Aldo.

We also got you a glockenspeil.  Okay, I think that’s what it is called.  Or you could call it a xylophone.  After music class we often stop in at a store on Bloor that has a whole kids music section.  You act like it is heaven as you play with all the stuff.  Seeing as it makes you so happy, Daddy said “why don’t you buy one”.  So we did.  And it comes with its own backpack.  That makes you very happy too.

Today we had to hurry after dropping off Daddy at work because Cathy was going to show us a new house.  Auntie Becky and Uncle Aldo met us at the house and then we went for coffee at Tim Horton’s after.  You drank half of Auntie’s coffee.  Good thing it was decaf!  You also really like Tim Horton’s chili so Mommy bought you a bowl of that too.  Next we were off to your speech therapy assessment.

Karen, the therapist, hasn’t seen you for several months.  She was so impressed she decided to discharge you!  As you sat playing with toys she was writing down different things you were saying.  Most of the time now you use four and five word sentances.  And apparently you are a bit advanced as far as being able to use the “s” sound (normally you have to be 3 to do that!).  She also liked how well you use first person pronouns and -ing endings on verbs.  I think there were two things that put you right over the top.  First off she asked you to help her put some stuff in a box.  You  corrected her and said it was a basket (which it was!).  She was shocked at your vocabulary.  Then you told her about having to go get a new goldfish because our old one died and we had to flush it in the potty.  She liked your story telling.

Because your story was so good, we stopped at Gerrard Square for a few minutes on the way home and bought a new goldfish.  Two of them actually.  Yup, Mommy is a bit of a sucker.  But I love making my girl happy.

Oh, another cute thing before I forget…  Last night when we were driving to the restaurant for supper, Auntie Becky was sitting beside you in the car.  You leaned over to her and said “Know what, Auntie?  My mommy has a baby in her tummy.”  Then very excitedly you explained to Auntie all about the size of the baby and helping the doctor to listen to the baby’s heart.  It was so cute hearing you.  You’ll be such a great big sister.

Now mommy wants to go have a quick nap too as I’m really tired.  I love you my little girl. – Mommy
